External Communications Intern; Advocacy Intern (2 positions)

Malaria Consortium’s External Communications team, based in London, is seeking assistance with its rapidly expanding communications and advocacy work. The candidate must have a strong interest in one or both of these disciplines, as well as competence in the use of the internet for research and social media engagement. In addition to a range of research, writing and supporting tasks, the candidate must be prepared to assist with administrative tasks for the team.

Malaria Technical Advisor
Location: Kinshasa, DRC

Malaria Consortium is one of the world's leading non-profit organisations dedicated to the comprehensive control of malaria and other communicable diseases in Africa and Southeast Asia. Malaria is one of the most important public health and socio-economic challenges facing the DRC. 97% of the population live in areas experiencing high and stable malaria transmission, and the remaining 3% of the population live in areas prone to outbreaks. In some parts of the country, the prevalence of malaria is as high as 80%, and children under five are estimated to each experience an average of 6-10 episodes of illness per year. About a third of all deaths are due to malaria, and DRC accounts for more malaria deaths than any country other than Nigeria.
