Geo operations is a key business unit with corporate responsibility for geological work related to drilling operations in the company. The unit geo operations comprises petroleum engineers, operations geologists and wellsite geologists, and has responsibility for operational well evaluation work related to exploration and field development/production on the Norwegian continental shelf and internationally, both onshore and offshore. Open positions in Harstad, Stjørdal, Bergen and Stavanger.

Job description

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary well planning teams for exploration and field development/production on the Norwegian continental shelf and internationally, both onshore and offshore
  • Follow up drilling operations and participate in onshore duty rotation
  • Active well placement and geosteering
  • Acquisition, evaluation and quality assurance of geological well data
  • Single well predrill and post drill analysis of pore pressure and wellbore stability data
  • Implement drilling experiences in the modelling and planning work
  • Contribute to update of pore pressure/wellbore stability field models
  • Pore pressure and wellbore stability during drilling operations
  • Wellsite geology work (offshore)
  • Opportunities for offshore wellsite geologist temporary assignments (2-4 schedule)
  • Opportunities for worldwide international assignments

Qualifications

  • Master of Science/Siv.Ing./Cand.Scient
  • Relevant experience (geology, rock mechanics, reservoir engineering, petrophysics, well test engineering)
  • Experience from operational work is preferable (mudlogging, EWL, MWD and drilling practice)
  • Experience from operational work is preferred.
  • General knowledge to drilling and petroleum technical work
