Purchasing Specialist – Vietnam

We are looking to recruit a talented person for Purchasing Specialist position for Supply Chain Department in Vietnam. In this role you will report to the Head of Procurement and will support him efficiently with several tasks.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the purchasing activities of technical products with multicultural suppliers;
• Execute a structured sourcing model with focus on business needs/spend/market analysis, strategy development, contracting and supplier relationship management;
• Propose new purchasing techniques and processes and lead their implementation effectively;
• Build strong, value-adding relationships with cross-functional teams to strengthen sourcing and material/services management effectiveness;
• Ensure the standard purchasing procedures are implemented, respected and improved;
• Lead identification, development and implementation of best purchasing practices;
• Manage the cost calculation on finished products;
• Develop the purchasing coordinators team towards purchasing skills effectiveness;
• Act as the company interface between raw material suppliers and finished goods suppliers for claim related to complex issues.

Personal Profile

As our Purchasing Specialist for our water products, you should possess:

• Strong interpersonal, negotiation skills with excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
• Problem solving mind-set
• Methodical work ethic; careful and thorough, gathers complete information
• Skills and experience in team management
• Self-motivation and ambition for personal and professional achievements
• Fluency in English – strong written and verbal skills are mandatory
• Organisational skills
• Familiar with tender procedures; experience with procurement process of donors is an advantage
• Computer skills: very good knowledge of Excel and Word – knowledge of Navision a plus

Education

• Minimum bachelor degree in engineering/commerce or equivalent with professional background in plastics
• English proficiency

Experience

• Experience in working on purchasing position(s) for at least 10 years with leadership function for minimum 2
• Professional work experience at an international company in the same or similar position.
• Experience in a supply chain position or at a logistics company.
• Deep market knowledge of supply base in Asia.
