You
As Head of Marketing & Fundraising you’ll be the motivating strategic compass for a number of specialized target group units. You have the quality to recognize and stimulate professional potential, and the ability to merge that potential into a powerful and coherent success driven entity. With strong organizational skills, you’re able to nourish the flexible and dynamic nature of the department. You’re experienced in binding corporate and private donors to existing and new propositions, and are savvy in the exploration of multichannel publishing. You’re not weary of challenging new concepts. You’ll be part of the War Child Management Team, and report directly to the Executive Director.
Your Challenge
Ensure sustainable national and international funding and growth in order to realize the targets set in the War Child Global Strategy.
Your Responsibilities
In the role of Head Marketing & Fundraising, you carry responsibility for developing a marketing and fundraising strategy with a minimum of three year perspective that optimizes the long term income for War Child. You’ll be responsible for coordinating and supporting all fundraising activities in the Netherlands and the War Child Program Areas (WPA’s), which includes strengthening and actively supporting WPA’s in doing their own fundraising. You develop new business projects with the intention to start international fundraising initiatives. You’ll directly manage the areas of private fundraising, corporate fundraising, long term institutional fundraising, relationship/stakeholder management, administration, marketing analysis and marketing communication.
Your Profile
With a relevant university degree (i.e. Business, International relations), you can boast on a minimum of five years in a senior management position. You have experience in managing multifunctional teams in a fast paced environment and have a proven track record in acquiring private and corporate clients, donors and/or funds. You are a natural leader with the ability to motivate, guide and develop your team. A people’s manager. You have strong social, communicative and diplomatic skills and are fluent in English and Dutch. You are decisive, pro-active and creative. You are willing to invest at least three years in supporting War Child helping war affected children worldwide. War Child reserves as many resources as possible to reach war affected children. Hence, the War Child salaries are below market standards.

We strive to organize a first round of interviews in the week of 5 November. Candidates who are successful in the first round will have the 2nd interview round in the week of 12 November followed by an assessment.
