The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative was created in 1992 as a platform that associates the United Nations and the financial sector globally. With over 200 members representing Banks, Insurers, and Investors from around the world, UNEP FI contributes the perspectives of financial institutions to the various UN and global activities on sustainable finance. UNEP FI’s mission is to bring about systemic change in finance to support a sustainable world, which is highlighted in its motto, ‘Changing finance, financing change’.
Responsibilities
Coordinate all actions required to position UNEP strategically on issues of sustainable finance by coordinating the Administration and Management of UNEP FI.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree in Finance, Business Administration or Environmental/Resource Economics.
- A minimum of fifteen years of experience relating to finance, investment, insurance, economics and environment, five of which should be at an international level.
- Fluency in English. Working knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.
