INTERNSHIP - Development & Donor Relations
The International Commission of Jurists is a non-governmental organization dedicated to the legal promotion and protection of human rights and the rule of law.
The ICJ is currently seeking an intern to work 6 months full-time during the period November 2013 - April 2014 within the Development and Donor relation Team. The intern’s duties will include to:
• Assist in the collection of data concerning new donors and help in searching new donors as required particularly for our programmes BHR, ESCR and CIJL; • Assist with the immediate objective of funding the ICJ Operational Plan: help in grant management and project development; and as follow up on contacts with donors through telephone calls and correspondence; • Assist with other administrative tasks of the Team: • Assist in maintaining records of each grant; • Follow up of proposals, reminders, disbursement, acknowledgment of funds received, acquittals; • Assist in reporting tasks: including keeping track of reporting schedules, informing relevant staff on the reporting deadlines and send following up regular report production. • Work on our monitoring and evaluation facility: • Analyze end-user feedback on ICJ activities in the field; • Aggregate and consolidate into data for reports. • Help with the organization of events and help organizing travel arrangements; • Other tasks as needed for project management, donor relations, or fundraising.
The post is Geneva based and the person selected should ideally be available by 1st November 2013.
Requirements: The successful candidates will have:
• A degree in marketing, communications, public relations or equivalent; • Swiss work permit; • Fluency in English. Working knowledge of another language would be an asset; • Excellent prospecting and drafting skills • High motivation and demonstrated interest in human rights.
Conditions: Unfortunately the ICJ is not in a position to offer any financial remuneration to interns. All interns are responsible for all expenses and costs incurred in undertaking an internship with the ICJ. On a discretionary basis the ICJ may offer a lunch allowance.
