RESEARCHER

Principal Responsibilities:

• To carry out Islamic finance related research activities – either industry-focused or academic research projects.
• To serve as one of the editors/contributors to quarterly INCEIF Research Bulletin;
• Provide input in development of INCEIF’s social media strategy.
• To coordinate and manage, internal and external, research activities undertaken by INCEIF
• To work and liaise with KMC to develop and maintain and sound Islamic finance resources
• To develop and maintain up-to-date and accessible Islamic finance industry wide database
• To provide periodic Management reports
• To manage the research process, such as collecting and collating data, analysing and report writing.
• To oversee the internal research application and its progress.
• To manage the process of verifying the publications: categories/indexed and quantum.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Department.

Requirements:

• The candidates must hold (or near completion) of an MBA/MSc. with specialisation in Islamic Finance/Islamic Banking or Chartered Islamic Finance Professional.
• Proof of English proficiency by providing sample of academic writing on any topic related to Islamic Finance.
• The candidate may be required to travel from time to time and make appointments with external clients.
• Conversant with Microsoft Office applications (Examples: Office, Project and Visio) is a must.
• Working knowledge of any econometrics software (or willingness to learn how to use the software) is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Arabic would be an added advantage.
• The candidate must be resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
