Vice-Provost (International)

Vice-Provost (International)
Consistently ranked among the world’s top universities, UCL has a global reputation for excellence across research and teaching. Founded in 1826 as a radically different institution that opened up higher education to people of all beliefs and social backgrounds, its pioneering ethos remains alive today. As London’s leading multidisciplinary university, UCL is an academic powerhouse, committed to engaging the ‘Grand Challenges’ of the 21st century, with international reach and vision.
In seeking to strengthen and enhance its global position, internationalisation is at the top of UCL’s agenda. Having risen to the challenge of opening new campuses and delivering programmes and research that reach across the world, UCL is well placed to capitalise upon its global ambitions to achieve further growth and development.
Appointed by UCL Council on the recommendation of the Provost, the Vice-Provost (International) is a member of the Provost's senior management team and is responsible for the development and strategic leadership of UCL’s international strategy, defining and delivering a shared vision across all international activity. The Vice-Provost (International) will play a leading role in strengthening and enhancing UCL’s position as a leading global university.
The successful candidate will be of the highest international standing in academia, business, government, diplomatic service or another area of public life and possess proven leadership, management and strategic planning skills to articulate and achieve a compelling vision for the future of UCL’s international strategy. The role will be strongly externally focused but candidates will also be expected to work closely with deans of faculties and other members of the senior management team.
A competitive salary, commensurate with experience, will be offered to the successful candidate.
We particularly welcome female applicants and those from an ethnic minority, as they are under-represented within UCL at this level.
