Emergency programme officer, Philippines

Christian Aid is now looking to recruit an innovative and dynamic Emergency Programme Officer for our humanitarian response in the Philippines.
Christian Aid is working together with our partners in the Philippines, responding to the typhoon Haiyan. Our programme includes response, rehabilitation and disaster risk reduction activities funded by a diverse portfolio of donors. Alongside the Emergency Programme Manager, based in Manila, you will support the implementation of an innovative and effective programme which results in significant impact on the lives of people affected by the typhoon. You will support our staff and partners in the region to develop effective approaches to respond effectively to the humanitarian situation in their contexts and support them to demonstrate and communicate the change that results.
You will have experience of the implementation of successful humanitarian response programmes and delivering of gender-focused approaches. You will have a commitment to working in partnership with civil society and church-based/ecumenical organisations and supporting the capacity development of partner organisations.
A strategic thinker, you have a strong track record in bringing innovative approaches to humanitarian programmes in rapidly changing contexts. You will have the drive and initiative to implement effective projects and programmes and the knowledge of participatory monitoring and impact assessment that will enable you to support our partners to effectively demonstrate the change that results.
With well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll have a proven ability to communicate with different audiences. Fluent English is required.
As this post is UK based, non-EC nationals will require current and valid permission to work in the UK.
