What we doPwC Consulting in Northern Ireland is an integral and important part of our UK Consulting business. The International Survey Unit (ISU) is based in Belfast and is PwC's Global Centre of Excellence for research, insight and analytics. For over 20 years we have undertaken some of the most prestigious and thought provoking research and thought leadership in the UK, Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. What you'll doWith PwC you'll have the opportunity to work as a valued member of our Consulting practice on a range of exciting client assignments. Typical projects that we manage and deliver on behalf of our varied multi-national and public sector clients include:
  • Market Assessment - examining market conditions, industry/competitor dynamics and growth opportunities.
  • Customer Research - understanding the customer journey, needs/expectations, strength of relationships and improvement opportunities.
  • Supplier/Stakeholder Research - exploring distribution and logistics issues and opportunities for supply chain improvements.
  • Employee Research -providing an insight into current culture, satisfaction, readiness for change and understand levels of staff engagement.
  • Benchmarking Research - reviewing the performance of organisations/brands in a market and offer a direct comparison to competitors.
  • Formulating Public Policy - our advice and guidance are mostly published and are frequently referred to by Government Ministers when introducing/revising public policies.
As part of this programme, you'll benefit from a structured and comprehensive development framework that will provide a foundation for your career progression and development. You'll have exposure to a wide variety of projects and clients and a typical day could involve:
  • Supporting consultants in research design, including questionnaire design and sample management.
  • Delivery of research projects, including client liaison, conducting surveys, focus groups and interviews.
  • Working with wider ISU team members in undertaking data analysis to provide insights from the research.
  • Preparing reports and supporting the delivery of presentations to clients. Supporting the preparation of proposals and co-ordinating/managing external research agencies when applicable.
  • As part of your on the job training, you'll be mentored and supported by a senior member of staff and you'll develop expertise in core consulting skills that will be applicable across all client engagements. The role is based in Belfast and there will be opportunities to travel both within the UK and on an international basis.

What we look forA 2:1 or above in a degree with a research component, business, economics, mathematics, IT or similar. A UCAS tariff of at least 300 (or equivalent)

Do you need a Work Permit?
Under the UK Border Agency 'Points Based System', PwC holds a sponsor licence and can sponsor eligible applicants under the Tier 2 Skilled Worker category.
Eligibility for a Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship ("CoS") will be assessed by the UK Border Agency with reference to the following:
  • Job role
  • Salary
  • English language
  • Maintenance.
The minimum requirements for each role are set out in the UK Border Agency Immigration Standard Occupation Classification ("SOC") codes and this includes minimum salary requirements.
For this role PwC cannot sponsor under the Tier 2 Skilled Worker category because the UK Border Agency's eligibility requirements cannot be met.
We welcome applications from applicants eligible to work in the UK or those that can apply for a visa granting permission to work in the UK (e.g. Tier 1 General, dependant visas etc) without sponsorship from PwC under Tier 2.
