Grants Programme Manager
For over 40 years, World Vision's name in New Zealand has been synonymous with eliminating poverty, restoring communities and saving lives. World Vision is a Christian-based humanitarian organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome extreme poverty and injustice. World Vision New Zealand is part of a global World Vision partnership, working in over 100 countries. World Vision’s Grants team is looking for a new Grants Programme Manager. This role focuses on accessing and managing funding from the NZ government and provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to support World Vision’s relief and development objectives primarily in the Pacific. The role includes the opportunity for regular travel to the field for the purpose of supporting the design, implementation and monitoring of grant-funded projects.
The Grants team is staffed with development practitioners who bring strong programme management expertise to the role of ensuring World Vision’s NZ government-funded projects are effectively delivering sustainable development outcomes. Due to the large amount of travel and communication required of an international role, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, while still maintaining close links with colleagues, donors, and field partners. You will have an approachable and professional manner, a good eye for detail and ability to manage budgets, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high work standards. The successful candidate will have a post-graduate qualification in Development Studies or a related subject, and preferably some experience working for an international NGO or donor agency. You will have demonstrated experience in research and data analysis, developing funding applications, managing grants application processes and producing progress reports. Demonstrated experience in grants management/compliance is essential. The closing date for applications is Friday 13th December 2013.
