Senior Manager: Forensic

The Road Accident Fund's (RAF's) mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa, to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner and to actively promote the safe use of our roads.
The Organisation requires the services of qualified individuals at its Head Office for the following positions:

Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the General Manager: Forensic Investigation, the incumbent will be responsible to investigate all fraud corruption committed against the RAF, both externally and internally, and to ensure a high level of fraud awareness internally and externally.
Key Performance Areas:
  • Implement and maintain Forensic Investigation standards
  • Conduct investigations into fraud conducted by internal parties, as well as that which involves external parties
  • Conduct ICT investigations to detect trends, patterns and establish links
  • Lead in the prevention of fraudulent activities in the organisation
  • Ensure proper and effective communication of FID successes to ensure maximum deterrence
  • Present, when required, evidence in disciplinary enquiries, CCMA, civil court and/or criminal court, where appropriate
  • Register criminal cases with SAPS
  • Draft for review and present Executive Summary and Factual Finding reports to the Board or Executive Management, as directed
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality with regard to investigatory information
  • Perform fraud awareness and fraud prevention training.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in the field of Health (minimum) and B degree/diploma in Legal/Forensic
  • Postgraduate qualification would be added advantage, eg CA, CFE
  • At least 5 years' experience in leading the forensic function
  • Experience in the investigation of crime and knowledge of criminal justice system
  • Experience in the management of fraud prevention and detection programmes
  • Sound decision-making abilities
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Good business acumen
  • Customer service-orientated.
Remuneration:
A Total Cost to Company of the minimum remuneration package applicable to this position is R717 158 per annum and will be negotiable, commensurate with experience.
