Organization Development Advisor
VSO is the world's leading independent international development organization that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries.

This placement will be in Khulna. Khulna is a city, just north of an international port, Mongla. It is Bangladesh's third largest city with a great deal of industrial and commercial development. It a bustling and busy city, with people from different backgrounds.
An Organization for Socio -Economic Development (AOSED) is developed in 1999 by a group of young and energetic youth from the south west region. This region is considered to be the poorest of Bangladesh, being frequently affected by natural disasters. These disasters have a huge impact on the people's livelihood, agriculture, health, hygiene and wellbeing in general.
AOSED works for conserving the environment, to ensure people will have access to their natural resources. This contributes to poverty alleviation.

Start date: August- September 2014
Length: 12 months
What does the role involve?
You will be placed in AOSED, in a growing non government development organization. The organization is based in Khulna city but they have project offices in rural areas of the south west region. You will intensively support to increase organizational capacity, particularly on long term strategy development and review policies.
You will:
* Develop a long term strategic plan of AOSED 
* Review and develop organization policies i.e. Organization Management, Human Resource, Finance and Gender 
* Train local AOSED staff on communication and documentation
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Essential skills and knowledge: 
* Bachelor degree in human resource development or similar discipline 
* Experience on strategy development for a community based organization 
* Experience in organization development/HR, particularly on policy development /review 
* Experience in training to staff development
