This role is available in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Bristol, and flexible in other UK locations if required.
    As part of the Intervention team, you will be part of exciting and growing business working on challenging and technical work scopes across a diverse range of intervention equipment: Integrated Workover Controls Systems (IWOCS), Completion Workover Risers (CWOR), subsea test trees and light well Intervention.

    The Senior CWOR Well Intervention Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for conception, design, approval, validation and verification activities on Oil & Gas equipment. Typically, this will include CWOR equipment: Lower Riser Package (LRP), Emergency Disconnect Package (EDP), Riser String and Surface Flow Tree (SFT).

      Responsibilities include:
    • Develop new conceptual design requirements for customer. 
    • Identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost effective solutions to satisfy specifications. 
    • Approve product design requirements from customer and industry specifications and ensure implementation in product designs. 
    • Establish engineering deliverables, scope and prioritisation of tasks in the baseline plan including monitoring, coordinating and reporting engineering activities towards completion. 
    • Review lessons learned and identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes developing cost effective solutions to satisfy specifications. 
    • Ensure equipment is designed in accordance with the current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation. 
    • Manage interface across engineering deliverables including 3rd party inputs. 
    • Undertake contract/sales order reviews to identify commercial and technical risks. 
    • Lead substantial Engineering work packages controlling Engineering resources and technical input to satisfy customer requirements, budgets and timeline.
      Key deliverables: 
    • Approval of system engineering design requirements established from customer & industry specifications for discipline/area of work. 
    • Communication of design specifications for interpretation by other engineers and designers. 
    • Approval of system scope of supply, equipment lists document registers and layouts. 
    • Approval of contracts/sales order reviews to identify commercial and technical risks. 
    • Approval of manufacturing drawings including schematics, layouts etc for discipline/area of work. 
    • Approval of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Integration, Field Service manual procedures. 
    • Approval of procurement bills of preliminary materials lists based upon the above, ensure released into the Product Information Management System (PIMS). 
    • Manage approval of design verification documentation, which may include but not limited to: risk analysis, failure analysis, design reviews, calculations to establish a full Design Verification Package (DVP). Ensure DVP has 3rd party or independent review.
    • Approval of Hydraulic, Electrical, Reliability or Finite element analysis for discipline/area of work. 
    • Chairman of design reviews and establishing solutions to actions including materials and environmental reviews. 
    • Chairman of FMECAs, HAZOPs and TRAP sessions to establish actions. 
    • Support manufacturing, Supply Chain and Field Service technical queries. 
    • Manage technical change control process and technical assurance. 
    • Mentor and develop junior engineers. 

  • Masters or Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineer or sufficient experience in lieu. 
  • Demonstrate expert domain knowledge in mechanical design for area of work. 
  • Strong planning and time management skills to establish priorities and drive progress. 
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills (written and verbal) on technical and commercial aspects of product design. 
  • Strong ability to write reports and present technical aspects to internal & external communities.
  • Familiar with Health, Safety and environmental regulatory requirements for the Oil & Gas industry. 
  • In depth knowledge of Industry standards. 
  • Experience in drafting standards and GD&T practices. 
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes including materials, welding and heat treatment of metals and elastomers. 
  • Good attention to detail. 
  • CEng/IEng or work towards. 

  • Intervention, CWOR and/or Well Access Systems experience 
  • Oil & Gas experience 
  • Ability to multi-task and handle tasks with competing priorities effectively 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
