Dimensions of the role
- The Shared Service Centre in Budapest.
- DBS Budapest prepares monthly IFRS management accounts through SAP and reports in Magnitude for group consolidation.
- Main accounting areas are: payroll, fixed assets, creditors, accruals, intercompany, local and other taxes
- P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flow analysis are key focus areas.
- The general ledger accounts are allocated to and managed by various teams within DBS (PTP, Treasury, RTR
Leadership Responsibilities
- Three direct reports. This role leads the Statutory Accounting process for DBS Budapest and would be expected to drive continuous improvement in the process and orchestrate the ongoing process.

Purpose of Role
- To own the Hungarian Statutory Accounting process for DBS Budapest.
- Ensure that management and statutory reporting is completed accurately and on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure smooth and accurate month-end closes
- Contribute ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the financial and operational process
Top 3-5 accountabilities
- Lead, coach and develop the Statutory Accounting team
- Takes ownership for the preparation of the Hungarian Annual Report and tax declarations
- Primary contact for the Hungarian Tax authorities
- Runs the accounting process for DBSC (Posting accruals and support accruals calculation, Timely cross charge of project costs and management charges, Provide and keep sufficient backup for intercompany recharges, Perform GL reconciliations

Qualifications and experience required
- 5 years relevant work experience
- Sound people management skills
- Strong understanding of Hungarian Accounting Law, underpinned by experience in financial and management accounting (University or College degree in Economics or Finance and Accounting)
- Audit background is an advantage
- Fluency in English (oral and written communications)
- Self-starter – ability to work through problems to resolution independently with minimal direct supervision and on the job coaching
- Strong analytical and questioning skill
