AVRDC – The World Vegetable Center is a nonprofit, autonomous international agricultural research center with headquarters in Taiwan and regional offices around the globe. AVRDC conducts research and development programs that contribute to improved incomes and diets in the developing world through increased production and consumption of nutritious and health promoting vegetables.
AVRDC seeks to hire a Scientific Coordinator for its East and Southeast Asia (ESEA) Regional Office, Bangkok in Thailand. The incumbent will assists the Regional Director in coordinating, gathering and analyzing information, providing project management support and other related services for the effective implementation of research, training, and development projects and programs of AVRDC's East and Southeast Asia region.

Qualifications and Experience
The position requires a minimum of Masters degree in agriculture, natural sciences, communications or related field with at least 3 years of direct supervisory or management experience. Extensive practical experience in extension, scaling up and training activities. Excellent communication and computer skills with fluency in written and spoken English. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Must have strong and polished interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Creative, strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to oversee multiple projects. Experienced in developing and managing budgets, hiring, and training, supervising and assessing personnel. Must be highly organized and able to work well with others.
Appointment
This is a nationally recruited staff position with a competitive salary and benefits. This position is open for Thai citizens only. The initial appointment is for one year and may be extended depending on the need for the position, funding availability, and performance of the incumbent.
