Sales Executive - BBC Worldwide Channels

BBC Worldwide is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Sales Executive to join our team based in London. BBC Worldwide Limited is the main commercial arm and a wholly owned subsidiary of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). BBC Worldwide exists to support the BBC public service mission and to maximise profits on its behalf. It does this through investing in, commercialising and showcasing content from the BBC around the world, in a way that is consistent with BBC standards and values.

Role Responsibility

As a Sales Executive you will be responsible for maximising revenue and profits from the exploitation of the BBC Worldwide Channels across all trapped audience outlets worldwide. The role will also support the Director – Travel & Special Markets and will provide a best in class account management function across key partners.
The Out of Home Sales Executive, BBC Worldwide Channels will be responsible for working with the Director of Travel & Special Markets to support the licensing of BBC Channels across trapped audience outlets. There are precedents for deal structures and overall strategy, but this is an arena which is rapidly evolving as new technologies and business models emerge, requiring flexibility and pragmatism of approach.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A good understanding of the global trapped audience market, and the challenges and opportunities brought by emerging technologies.
  • Excellent IT Skills e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • An advanced knowledge of technical materials across SD, HD and Digital including music & effects and audio tracks
  • An awareness of the importance of, and how to check, rights and costing information.
  • Strong organisations skills, ability to prioritise and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Good team player and experience of dealing with complex administrative tasks.
