Cardno currently has a great opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Mackay office. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient civil engineering design services for the Business Unit in accordance with project times and budgets.  You will be joining a team of respected professionals in the provision of civil engineering services for private and government sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

Specifically, your duties will include –

• Undertaking civil engineering design, review and project management for a wide range of projects including roads, land development, drainage and sewerage systems and other civil infrastructure
• Provision of specialist design and reporting expertise within a multi-disciplinary office
• Management of client relationships on allocated projects
• Assisting senior managers with business development activities
• Conducting site inspections

Other Requirements

To be successful you will display –

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
• Extensive experience (ideally five years) within a civil infrastructure environment (ideally within Central and/or Northern QLD)
• Strong business development and client relationship skills
• Acute communication skills to liaise with the team, senior management and external stakeholders to produce commercial, client focused outcomes
• Business acumen to financially manage your own projects
• An enthusiasm and drive to contribute to the growth and development of the team
