Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic, pro-active, resourceful, and outcomes-oriented gender specialist to join our interdisciplinary team of scientists working to improve the livelihoods of resource-poor wheat and maize farmers in the developing world. As a member of the CIMMYT Socio-Economics Program, and in close collaboration with biophysical scientists and international and national partners, the successful candidate will undertake applied research on gender issues in relation to the sustainable intensification of wheat and maize-based farming systems and contribute to strengthening the institutional capacity for integrating gender in wheat- and maize research-for-development. The position is linked to key research-for-development projects in CIMMYT's South Asia portfolio, including the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia ( http://csisa.cimmyt.org ).

The position will be based in New Delhi, India, but will interact with all CIMMYT´s experimental stations and regional offices (country and world-wide) on a regular basis.

The position is for an initial fixed-term contract of 2 years, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds.
