Summer English teacher - Nablus, Palestine
Pioneers School (www.pioneers.ps) in Nablus, Palestine is seeking teachers for our 2014 summer program. Experience teaching or working with children is preferred but not necessary. Ideal candidates will be flexible, energetic, and willing to teach a variety of activities and ages.
The summer program is a full-day (9:00am-2:30pm) program designed to serve our current and new students who need extra English support over the summer. Students range from 3rd to 9th grade. English teachers will spend 4-5 periods each day with their students, working on English grammar, reading, writing, and vocabulary-building. We are looking for innovative and flexible teachers who can bring creative teaching methods, ideas, and activities into the English classroom. Students will also take art and sports classes, each at least three times a week. We believe in teaching English through experiential learning, and there are myriad opportunities for teachers to develop after-school activities in art, drama, music, sports, and other areas, depending on the interests of the teacher.
Teacher training will begin 1 June 2014, and the program will end on 18 July 2014. Housing is provided, as well as a stipend of $450 for the full program, paid in two installments.
