We currently have a limited number of vacancies to join the Technical team in our Engineering Operations Control Centre, monitoring aircraft performance through AHM/Airman and tech Log reports, repetitive defect analysis, aircraft reliability and safety review plus providing technical support to the operational area’s maintaining the British Airways fleet of aircraft.

Job Description

Job Purpose
  • Responsible for following laid down technical procedures to deliver aircraft, engine and component technical, safety and cost performance targets along with continuous improvement of aircraft technical performance, engineering processes and procedures
  • Support business development and change initiatives in support of the business plan
Job Dimensions
  • Member of a small team responsible for aircraft, engine or component operational and technical management as determined by the business requirements of the owning area
  • Ability to work shifts and provide out of hours support as reasonably required

Principal Accountabilities

  • Prepares technical data to ensure safe maintenance/repair/modification of BA aircraft engines, components or products
  • Provides on site specialist technical support as required with due regard for safety, technical, regulatory and commercial requirements
  • Analysis and actions safety reports and repetitive defects
  • Monitors technical performance and develops corrective actions, evaluates industry data
  • Supports simplification and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications
  • Ability to hold CAA/EASA approvals or BA company approvals
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in an Aerospace Engineering subject
  • Recognised Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience
Experience
  • High degree of business awareness
  • Experience of working in project teams
  • Experience of supplier management
  • In depth fleet/product knowledge gained through considerable hands on experience
  • Specific knowledge of aircraft mechanical and avionic systems, structures and materials
Expertise
  • Detailed knowledge of the safety and quality management system
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of company processes and procedures applicable to the work environment and people management
  • Detailed knowledge of at least one aircraft type
  • Detailed knowledge of product design or materials as appropriate
