Introduction
SMC Logistics in Dublin are looking for an Inbound Supply Chain Specialist, to manage a portfolio of European strategic external and/or internal suppliers to ensure availability of supply at the optimum inventory levels at the central warehouse.
The Role
The role will involve:
  • Maintaining / improving supplier relationships with the strategic suppliers in your portfolio.
  • Collaborating with strategic suppliers to ensure KPI’s in relation to delivery accuracy and lead-time consistency are met.
  • Understanding customer expectations and ensure that the fill rate is met, and inventory levels are optimised at the central warehouse.
  • Responsibility for system parameter management for lead-time, ROP replenishment trigger levels and accountable for the resultant inventory levels.
  • Ensuring supplier portfolio is optimised: eliminate dormant suppliers; rationalise the active supply base; employ pre-packaging at the supplier; optimise the physical supply chain; and ensure that the SLA’s for transportation and warehouse are met.
  • Striving to ensure that the appropriate spare part contract addendum is established for your supplier base that includes delivery performance targets, delivery and payment terms, and net working capital expectations.
  • Responsible for sourcing activities for C suppliers. This includes price negotiations.
  • Ensure that the operational buying tasks for your supplier base are performed in a timely manner.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Strong knowledge of Logistics Systems and Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience of supplier relationship management.
  • Experience in planning and inventory processes.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and business management tools (System 21, Maximo etc.)
  • General knowledge of Aftermarket business.
  • Sound business skills including negotiation, communication and general business acumen.
  • Able to travel internationally.
