Communications and Media Officer at CEEMET

CEEMET is looking for an experienced communications and media officer (f/m) to support its work representing a quarter of a million manufacturing companies across Europe. While this position essentially is a full-time role, some flexibility in terms of hours would be considered.
 
The role, which reports to CEEMET’s Director General, is key to driving the organisation’s aims of strengthening the industrial renaissance of Europe, working closely with influential member organisations across the EU.
 
This is a key role, working at the heart of decision-making and influencing in Brussels.
 
Overall task:
  • Drive CEEMET’s communications strategy and strengthen its messaging, ensuring key media and stakeholders are kept informed about priorities and activities relevant to the industry
  • Raise CEEMET’s and the industry’s public profile, measurably strengthening awareness of the issues and policies affecting member organisations
  • Work closely with policy colleagues, at CEEMET and in member countries, to ensure consistent and effective communications both external and internal
 
Job description:
  • Manage all aspects of CEEMET’s communications work, including delivering the organisation’s communications strategy, planning and implementation of media and stakeholder communications
  • Writing and distributing news releases, and establishing contacts with media organisations based in Brussels and other EU capitals
  • Liaise closely with communications leads for other CEEMET members
  • Responsibility for, and coordination of, all digital communications
  • Drafting and editing CEEMET publications, including press releases, news articles and annual report
  • Oversee production of CEEMET’s newsletter, including content planning and circulation
  • Support speech writing and the preparation of briefing notes 
  • Support event planning, coordination and delivery
  • Identifying speaking opportunities
  • Responsibility for maintenance, format and content of CEEMET website
 
Profile:
  • Three to five years proven experience in communications, ideally within a company or agency or as journalist
  • Strong knowledge of and good contacts with Brussels media landscape
  • A track record of transforming technical topics into easier-to-read stories for media, and digital distribution
  • Native-level English a must
  • Good understanding of the EU political process and EU affairs
  • Strong digital communication skills
  • Fast learner with interest in manufacturing industry
  • Organised and flexible, capable of prioritising and handling a variety of tasks in an international environment
  • Strong influencing skills
