Public Affairs / Policy Analyst / Campaign Assistant

Democracy of Ideas (Δημοκρατία Ιδεών), an NGO operating in Greece and focusing on participatory democracy, is providing a limited number of internships to candidates who are enrolled in undergraduate programs, as well as to young graduates and researchers. We are currently looking for interns able to start by early February 2015 for a period of six (6) months.
The internship will focus on gaining in-depth knowledge of the organization and corporate environment in Greece and Europe. Interns will assist our team with a variety of tasks.
The objectives of the internship are, primarily, to provide interns with an opportunity to gain practical work experience to supplement their academic program for future work in a field related to the Democracy of Ideas mission; and to work in a fast-paced environment on socio-political issues in order to gain experience, working in a mutual-learning and knowledge-sharing environment.
 
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cooperate with the team for the preparation of DI’s daily schedule, activities, and conferences;
  • Provide inputs for the production of DI’s reports and papers;
  • Coordinating input from partners on strategy and implementation of campaigns;
  • The intern will assist with the Program’s communication and outreach strategy;
  • Candidates should be flexible and willing to do a variety of tasks, including online research, scheduling appointments and administrative work.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Undergraduate/ graduate studies in political science, international relations, communication, journalism, public affairs, public relations, human resources or similar subjects;
  • Experience with social media/networks;
  • Native Greek and excellent verbal and written command of English;
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Internet;
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and able to flourish in a high-paced environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal relations.
