The organization 
The IDH Sustainable Trade Initiative helps to accelerate and upscale sustainability within mainstream international commodity markets. We build ambitious public-private coalitions of companies, civil society organizations and governments around high-impact programs in order to benefit people, planet and profit. With co-funding from the Dutch, Swiss and Danish Governments, and from business partners, IDH organizes development and implementation of public private partnerships in 18 sectors such as coffee, tea, cotton and electronics. IDH is a dynamic organization of 57 staff members based in Utrecht, The Netherlands, with hubs in Vietnam and Indonesia and a number of staff working in African countries.

Operations and Finance Officer (40 hours)

Job profile
As the Operations & Finance Officer (O&F Officer) you are part of the Operations team. Reporting to the Business Controller, you work within the Program Teams for 3-4 commodity programs. For those programs, as O&F Officer you are responsible for providing (financial) information for program teams, internal control and IDH management. The job encompasses administrative, accounting and reporting components.
IDH is looking for a bright and organized team player. You execute assignments quickly, are structured and flexible. It is easy for you to keep an overview and prioritize when required. You have a background in financial accounting and learn fast. You have at least 3 years work experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures and records the financial administration of the programs, prepares monthly reconciliations and provides data required for the management reporting.
  • Manages the process of financial KPI setting and reporting, will assess financial reports and audit statements received from partner organizations and will follow up on the findings of such.
  • Assists the Program Teams with the financial components of tender documents, calls for proposals and contracts.
  • Prepares overviews showing internal financial KPIs, e.g. financial forecasts on expected projects, financial performance of IDH and the projects. Ensures alignment with the IDH operational procedures, including partner assessments, tender rules e.g.
  • Provides advice to other Program Team members and Implementing Partners on efficient solutions for implementation of the projects within the internal control framework.
Requirements
  • Working and thinking at least at HBO level with a background in financial accounting.
  • At least 3 years of work experience, preferably in a similar organization.
  • Experience with Exact Globe and MS Excel.
  • Fluent in English and preferably Dutch.

Conditions
