Editors for Merger Control Decisions

  • Fancy getting some work experience under your belt to leverage your legal and analytical skills?
  • Hoping to perfect your ability to summarise decisions in English?
  • Interested in working with a network of international legal experts?
  • Without even having to leave your computer…?
Caselex might have something for you!
What is Caselex?
Caselex (www.caselex.lu) is a unique legal publisher that aims to open up national case law linked to EU law. Currently, it is in the process of re-launching with a new Market Definitions Module, collecting concentration control decisions from national competition authorities and the European Commission.
What is Caselex looking for?
Caselex is looking for editors who can contribute to this process by summarizing decisions in the field of concentration control (decisions from national competition authorities following notification) for the Caselex database.
What are the activities to be performed?
Editors are to select relevant decisions of the competition authority assigned to them (depending on their language capacity) and summarize these in English on the basis of a specific protocol. Doing so, they can rely on an on-line technical system that supports them to do the job effectively and efficiently. A proof-reader checks and provides feedback on the drafts submitted.
What background is required?
  • Law students (PhD or Master phase preferred) from any jurisdiction with good understanding of European law, in particular competition law.
  • Excellent English writing skills and a willingness to work with and learn from our editorial team.
  • A flexible, timely and committed working attitude.
What do you get in return?
  • A great opportunity to work in a multinational legal network.
  • Flexible workload to fit around your schedule.
  • Remuneration based on the number of competition authority decisions that you will cover.
