Senior Manager, Private Sector Partnerships

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, is an innovative public-private global health partnership whose mission is to save children’s lives and protect people’s health by increasing access to immunisation in poor countries.

Since 2000, Gavi’s work with countries and Alliance partners has prevented 6 million deaths through immunisation of an additional 440 million children. Gavi’s new strategy for 2016-2020 aims to reach a further 300 million children and prevent another 5-6 million deaths.

The Senior Manager, Private Sector Partnerships will help lead Gavi’s private sector partnerships team, focusing on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of Gavi-related operations, such as in the areas of vaccine supply chain, data quality, and immunisation coverage and equity. The role will require a creative, strategic thinker with proven programmatic experience in implementing business solutions in emerging or developing markets. 

The right individual will have a sharp mind who can rigorously prioritise and translate complex needs into viable solutions and a professional persona that can easily convene and focus multiple stakeholders towards a common vision and goal. He or she will possess a proven record of management across teams, a positive leadership style and an unflagging determination to shape how the private sector sustainably impacts Gavi’s goals.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in establishing successful public-private partnerships with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. A business, finance or marketing degree is ideal as well as international experience, preferably with developing countries. Demonstrated experience in using a sales or business development approach to secure partnerships that help achieve organisational goals as well as project management experience is required.
