Project Manager (China IPR SME Helpdesk)

DEVELOPMENT Solutions (DS) is a European consultancy and serves the international donor and business community in support of sustainable development and investments objectives, primarily in emerging markets. DS is leading a consortium implementing the China and South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesks. These are major EU funded business support service projects for European SMEs, which deliver business-focused and practical advice on IPR protection and enforcement in China and South-East Asia. Services available to European SMEs include through expert Helplines, online portals, industry or IP specific guides and training workshops and other events. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our Brussels team and lead communications and outreach activities, new media marketing, event planning, and stakeholder liaison for the China IPR SME Helpdesk. Very good communication and relationship-building skills are a necessity given the need for daily cooperation with business stakeholders, SMEs and project partners. Excellent organisational skills and English writing and editing skills are required. Responsibilities would include line management of Project Officers and interns, who are part of the project.
Applicants for the Brussels office should have the right to live and work in Belgium, DS is not able to sponsor work permits for Belgium.
Qualifications
Prospective candidates require:
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management implementation, strategic planning or relevant field
  • An undergraduate degree or higher (in business, marketing, communications, international relations or a related field)
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills
  • Strong communication and client servicing skills
  • Previous experience in networking, outreach and stakeholder liaison (experience with stakeholders in Europe preferred)
  • Highly motivated and hard working
  • Reliable and showing initiative, thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Team player with strong coordination and organisational skills
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage and coordinate website development would be an advantage
