Director, Regional Operations

Summary of Responsibilities:

- To provide strategy and direction to the Operations activities of Amadeus within the Asia Pacific region

- To ensure Service Excellence to the customers of Amadeus in Asia Pacific

- To position Amadeus Asia to successfully represent the various operations departments and functions of Amadeus in Nice and Erding

- To ensure the underlying operational structures are in place in Asia Pacific to allow Amadeus to achieve its objectives and strategies

- Provide a structure for Amadeus to leverage cost opportunities that exist in Asia Pacific by hosting and managing off-shoring functions

Major Responsibilities:

Strategy and Direction for Regional Operations

- Understand the business trends of GDS and travel, as well as the specific business objectives of Amadeus Globally and in Asia Pacific.

- Plan, direct and coordinate the Regional Operations department to be able to meet the needs of Amadeus in Asia Pacific for the future.

- Implement feedback and review mechanisms to measure the direction and performance of the Regional Operations department.

- Provide direction and guidance to ACOs and other Channels to Markets in setting of their Objectives and Strategies to support Amadeus?s Global and Regional Objectives and Strategies.

- Set policies and procedures for Operations in Asia Pacific

Department and Region Management

- Manage the departments and units comprising the Regional Operations department to ensure the objectives and strategies of the Regional Operations department are carried out.

- Coordinate with ACOs and other Amadeus Channels to Market to ensure they are being provided Service Excellence.

- Coordinate with ACOs and other Amadeus Channels to Market to ensure they are establishing Operations infrastructure consistent with the Global and Regional objectives and strategies.

- Identify new and unique ways to meet regional / local requirements and to value add the Amadeus solutions and services.

- Position Amadeus Asia to successfully represent Amadeus functions from Nice and Erding

Communication

- Report to the VP Asia Pacific on major operational issues and results.

- Communicate with the Asia Pacific SMT on all matters of service, product, policy and procedure relating to Regional Operations.

- Accountable for providing advice and support to the VP Asia Pacific and other business units, on Regional Operations including service, application development, systems performance and cost information.

- Ensure best practices from Amadeus Asia are communicated to other parts of Amadeus.

ISO ? Quality Database

- Display leadership relating to quality within the department and use of the ISO Quality Database.

Ensure the ISO Quality Database is current, accurate and understood by all staff.

Staff Development and Training

- Ensure the availability of suitably qualified staff, setting work objectives and seeking appropriate staff development programs.

- Review direct reports performance annually in accordance with the organisation?s MBO and Performance Development Review procedures.

- Develop the management, supervisory and project planning/scheduling skills of staff.

- Coach, counsel and guide staff in Regional Operations on best practice.

- Manage HR activity and procedures for Regional Operations, including Performance Appraisals, Salary Reviews and Staff Promotions

Offshoring Support

- Support cost savings for Amadeus by hosting and managing various functions of Amadeus from other areas.

Requirements:

Relevant Job Experience:

Tertiary education, preferably in Business Administration, IT, Management or Commercial areas

Minimum 7 years professional experience in management, GDS knowledge, general travel industry knowledge and IT related knowledge.

Experience with determining and setting direction and strategy

Good knowledge of activities and structure within the other areas of Amadeus

Understanding of the GDS and travel industry and the expected business trends
