Interim Assistant Corporate Secretary BRUIN Financial

I am currently recruiting for an Interim Assistant Corporate Secretary to work on fixed interim basis for a high profile/large scale pension delivery programme. The client is looking for a Corporate Secretary who has experience of working at the highest level in the corporate secretariat of a high profile corporate organisation.

You will be instrumental in the process of embedding the new governance structures for the corporation and will have both strategic and hands on work around the secretariat function.

You will have responsibility for the following deliverables and activities:

  • Ensuring that the corporation will be considered to be an “exemplar of good governance” operating to the highest standards of practice
  • Providing close support to the Chair and Trustee Members of the Corporation and ensuring the processes of governance through the Corporation meetings run smoothly and efficiently
  • Supporting the timely and accurate production and dissemination of agendas, papers and minutes including co-ordination of other department’s contributions to meetings
  • Contributing to the planning and organisation of meeting schedules and forward looking agendas
  • Managing, resolving and recording of Freedom of Information Act requests
  • Ensuring that best practice in governance and decision making is understood and engendered across the business
  • Management of risks within the secretariat’s area
  • Contributing to good information flows into and across the various internal committees and between executives on all aspects related to corporate governance
  • Ensuring that the corporation keeps up to date with corporate governance standards and best practice
  • Organising and delivering Trustee Member on-going development and training including statutory trustee knowledge and understanding training

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Trustee Member activities and their committees through planning, preparing papers and providing secretarial support for all their meetings. You will also be representing the secretariat within the corporation at various internal meetings including preparing agendas and minutes and liaising with key personnel.
