Senior Education Specialist (PL2)

The following requirements and duties apply to all PL2 Specialist Posts:

Requirements
: • Appropriate Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent recognised 3-year qualification that includes a Teaching diploma (minimum of REQV 13) with 3 years’ appropriate teaching experience • Thorough knowledge of policies and legislation governing FET Colleges in RSA • Registered with SACE • Computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), as well as analytical skills • Management and control attributes.

Duties: • Manage curriculum activities for both NC(V) and Report 191 programmes • Monitor curriculum delivery for programmes applied • Carry out and co-ordinate assessment processes, including ICASS, ISAT, CAT, etc • Interpret and implement curriculum policy and legislation • Organise experiential learning and teaching, including excursions for students • Advise on training and development needs for staff members under his/her span of control • Report and account for lecturer and student performance in his/her programme(s) • Engage in contact teaching and learning in a classroom • Perform other duties within the ambit of teaching and learning • Carry out other duties as a mentor of the Campus Management.
