The Financial Stability Department, Banking System Unit of the Swiss National Bank is seeking applications for the position of

Senior Economist / Economist

As part of a team of economists, you will lead or take part in projects defining the SNB's policy in the area of financial stability. You will contribute to the identification of sources of instability in the banking sector and assist in developing strategies designed to enhance stability. Your job will include monitoring of risks to financial stability in the macro environment and conducting quantitative analysis in a broad range of policy-relevant areas. Moreover, you will contribute to the drafting of documents on which the Governing Board decisions are based, as well as to the unit's report and speech writing. Furthermore, you will work closely with other national and international institutions.

To meet the demands of this challenging position you will have completed a master's and ideally a doctoral thesis in the field of macroeconomics/macro finance and have several years of relevant professional experience. In addition, we require excellent analytical and editorial skills and a good command of both English and German.
