Summary
The USAID-funded Information Security Coalition (ISC) provides dedicated technical support and mentoring to civil society organizations to address their information technology and cybersecurity needs. To support this effort, the ISC is building a coalition of interested technology partners to improve the availability and effectiveness of relevant information security resources. The ISC Coalition Officer will foster and manage this process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Foster relationships between coalition members and keep all members informed of coalition activities. Identity possible recipients for technology partner grants and manage/monitor the grant process. Link coalition partners and their activities with local beneficiaries in the field. Identify potential new coalition partners and engage them in the coalition’s activities. Manage logistics related to coalition events and activities. Participate in conferences, trainings and other events as needed. Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
At least 3-5 years’ experience in international information security. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required. English fluency, proficiency in another language desirable. High degree of computer literacy under Windows. Solid understanding of internet’s building blocks: DNS, SSL, IP, etc. Strong interpersonal skills as well as experience developing solid professional relationships. Strong technical background in information technology and a firm understanding of internet security issues, including familiarity with methods of encryption of data during storage and transmission, circumvention of cyber-censorship, patch management, and secure web hosting. Willingness to travel as needed. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple programs/activities. Counterpart is an equal opportunity employer.
