Financial Accounting Officer Transparency International
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
The Financial Accounting Officer at the Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is responsible for day-to-day accounting processes.
Main function: Provide support to the Finance Department in the areas of financial accounting.
Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: limited for 2 years with the possibility of extension
Location: TI-Secretariat, Berlin, Germany
Department: Finance Department
Reporting lines: Head of Financial Accounting
Job grade: PC
Responsibilities:
- Carries out the approval process of incoming invoices.
- Advises staff members on invoices and cash receipts related matters.
- Carries out the input of incoming invoices and receipts into the accounting system.
- Prepares payments to be carried out in good time.
- Assists in the checking and approval of travel cost reimbursements claims.
- Coordinates proper usage of TI credit cards and petty cash.
- Conducts administrative tasks and assists in the preparation of reports to external authorities and stakeholders.
Knowledge, experience and skills:
- Education as financial accountant, or studies in Accounting/Finance/ Economics/Business.
- At least two years of professional experience.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel).
- Knowledge of Oracle Business Suite or another ERP system would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of IFRS would be an advantage.
- Creativity, ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to work against tight deadlines and under stress.
- Good personal communication skills.
- Excellent German and English oral and written skills – Business language is English.
TI Secretariat reserves the right to appoint to another staff level subject to education and qualifications.
