Laboratory Supervisor

This position is responsible for supervising the S•O•SSM Services’ daily laboratory operations. The incumbent provides daily direction to Senior Laboratory Technician(s), Development Analyst(s), Lab Facilitators (LF), Co-op Student(s) and part-time clerical employee(s). The Laboratory Supervisor position also becomes involved with daily sample processing, sample interpretation, billing, development projects and ISO 9001 initiatives. Responsibilities may also include quarterly and yearly PDP reviews.

Requirements:

• A four-year degree in Chemistry or related field (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc) or equivalent work experience, which must include a minimum of four years’ direct lab experience
• Working knowledge of ICP and FT-IR analytical techniques
• Laboratory skills
• Computer skills
• Supervisory experience
• Organisational and planning skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
