The European Commission is looking to recruit a
Chief Economic Analyst (GRADE AD15) COM/2012/10326 to be based in Brussels
In this pivotal position, you will play a key role in the implementation of the EU's economic budgetary and surveillance policies, acting as a guarantor of uniformity and transparency. You will provide detailed feedback on draft working documents and decisions, as you verify consistency with precedents, shape best practice for monitoring Member States’ financial affairs, and recommend improvements to our methodologies and scrutiny procedures.
Highly competent in economic, monetary and financial matters, you will bring a deep knowledge of the principles of fiscal stability and mechanisms for regulating finance. At the same time, you will possess an exceptionally analytical mindset, strong negotiating abilities and sound political judgment, backed by proven ability to motivate a small specialist team. Naturally, you should be a citizen of an EU Member State, with a degree-level education, a proven record in strategic leadership roles and good knowledge of two official EU languages.
Please note that the post is offered on a three-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of a single renewal for a further two years.
