PRODUCTION: MANAGER , South African Bank Note Company

PRODUCTION: MANAGER

Prospective applicants must meet the following key requirements:

  • B degree in Engineering/Operations Management/Production Management or equivalent
  • BSc Engineering (preferable)
  • Printing knowledge would be advantageous
  • 12 years or more working experience
  • 5 or more years in a management position
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Computer literacy
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Communication skills (English – both written and verbal)
  • Problem identification and solution development
  • Good planning, organising and control skills
  • Ability to write reports for Management
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Analytical ability
  • Results orientated
  • Attention to detail.

The incumbent will be responsible for, inter alia:

  • Managing the day-to-day production within the factory and efficiently planning and scheduling personnel and equipment to achieve efficiency and effectiveness of the print value chain
  • Performing essential functions that ensure overall customer satisfaction and quality service, and establishing and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders within the print value chain
  • Translating print production-related information into business plans, as well as being a monitor of current print production performance trends
  • Ensuring alignment of the Company’s manufacturing services, policies and strategies to broader organisational strategy and direction
  • Maintaining effective administration and reporting
  • Initiating appropriate systems within the Production Department to minimise risks relating to the continued production of security documents for all clients
  • Ensuring that all nonconformances and potential corrective actions are logged by relevant managers/supervisors
  • Providing support to managers/section heads and supervisors to resolve all outstanding corrective actions
  • Ensuring document control and management
  • Ensuring effective incident investigation.
