Job Purpose

The purpose of the Quality Engineer Technical is to undertake audits, investigations and surveillance in accordance the approved Quality Manual, and as directed by the Quality Manager Technical, in order to uphold the CAR OPS 1 (Sub-part M) Maintenance Approval of Etihad Airways.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities shall include but not limited:

  • Prepare and undertake quality auditing and surveillance of internal and subcontracted maintenance functions to uphold regulatory and internal standards.
  • Carry out quality investigations into maintenance and process errors to mitigate repeat occurrences, reducing costs and increasing safety.
  • Prepare quality assurance reports resulting from audits, surveillance & investigations, to allow formal review and tracking from audits, surveillance & investigations.
  • Prepare quality assurance and maintenance procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Undertake Quality process reviews, and draft procedures accordingly to ensure that all any changes within the quality department are process controlled.
  • Monitor mandatory compliance issues such as, Certificate of Airworthiness issue and renewal, Certificate of Registration and Airworthiness Directive implementation, in order to provide assurance to Etihad Airways and it’s third parties (such as the GCAA) that compliance has been satisfactorily achieved.
  • Deputise for Quality Manager Technical and act as interface for Technical issues with third parties on such occasions.
Requirements
Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (ICAO), and/or an appropriate Engineering degree, minimum of 10 years airline industry experience, including at least 3 years in Technical Quality Assurance.
You are required to have the following:
  • Formal training in quality assurance auditing, preferably to Lead Auditor standard.
  • Excellent knowledge of maintenance regulations issued by an appropriate regulatory authority (preferably JAA and/or the U.A.E GCAA).
  • High standard of English language.
  • High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications).
