Strategic Planner

So whether it’s advising on energy markets, economic evaluations, oil pricing, macroeconomic outlook or international energy policies and regulations, your role will be both stimulating and demanding. Quite simply, the limits to what you can achieve are up to you.

You will hold a degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or Financial Management along with 15 years’ of experience with a globally, integrated energy company with a portfolio of oil, gas, refining and petrochemical assets, including joint ventures.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides foremost advice and guidance on the development of the Company’s strategic goals and strategic plans to achieve those goals in relation to the Company’s mission and vision statements.
• Collaborates with business lines and the Corporate Planning Business Analysis Department to validate/confirm results of independent research on long-term global trends and energy industry evolution with a view to determining the impact upon the Company and the Kingdom’s development.
• Responsible for structuring the strategic portions of the operating plan and business plan instructions, including narratives, schedules and systems.
• Reviews annual operating plan and business plan before approval by the Management Committee (MC) to ensure strategic goals are expressed in alignment with MC directives; validates actions/objectives presented that will drive each business line to achieve the expressed goals.
• Reviews mid-year and year-end accountabilities reported progress in the context of measuring progress toward achieving the Company’s strategic goals. Upon completion of each review, partners with management at the business line level to propose adjustments required to close the gaps in progress or alternatively, revise elements of the strategic goals to ensure that they are still relevant and achievable.
• Reviews and recommends metrics for measuring progress toward strategic goals.
• Prepares special studies and analyses as required, for the MC and Planning Advisory Committee.
• Guides and directs the work of task forces assigned to specific planning/analysis problems. Originates, organizes, mobilizes, supervises and evaluates outside consultants retained to solve specific Company problems as the need arises.
• As required, when significant events occur that can adversely affect our long-term goals, informs the business line and MC of required courses of action to mitigate losses or maximize profits.
