We are ResultsinHealth, an international advisory agency in public health and development. We work for governments, non-governmental organizations, bilateral and international organizations and financing agencies.

Our passion? Development and delivery of effective health care to disadvantaged and poor populations and actively fighting the major human epidemics. We base our advice on scientific evidence, we try to find innovative ways of solving common public health problems, while recognising the realities of everyday practice in developing countries.

To assist our technical teams, we are looking for a:
Technical Proposal Writer

to collaborate in preparing high quality proposals for international donors and technical agencies for projects and programmes in HIV, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Maternal Child and Neonatal Health, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Gender mainstreaming, Management of Non-Communicable Diseases, and other conditions that prevent the development of societies.

Responsibilities
We expect the ideal candidate to:
• Take key responsibilities in formulating project proposals, letters of interest and concept papers for a large variety of donors, such as USAID, EC, AusAID, DFID, the specialised UN Agencies, Global Fund, UNITAID, and others.
• Write and /or revise proposal sections, such as executive summary, technical approach, management and staffing plans, and other sections as assigned. Contribute to writing in areas of programmatic and/or technical expertise.
• Prepare collateral proposal documentation, such as capability statements, past performance references, personnel resumes, job descriptions, and background information on relevant subject areas.
• Ensure effective participation and input from RiH programme managers and support staff.
• The proposal writer may also be asked to participate in reviewing Calls for Proposals, team decision processes regarding proposal development, determining strategies for application, and ensuring that donor requirements are met.

• Working in a structured way and focusing on achieving results. Able to show results that have been achieved, and developing interventions in case of unsatisfactory outcomes.
• Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills. Recognising good ideas from others and building on them.

Requirements
• Well qualified candidates will have a University degree (preferably Masters) in a relevant field, e.g. Public Health, International Development, Social Sciences, or other.
• At least three (3) years of experience as a technical writer and editor.
• Experience in project design, proposal writing, and preferably budget development.
• Familiarity with donor procedures is considered an important asset.
• Ability to create engaging and compelling text, while maintaining technical accuracy and adhering to strict page limitations.
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
• Able to meet deadlines, with strong attention to detail and quality.

We offer

• A full time assignment with occasional travel.
• Salary range Euro 40,500 – 56,000 per annum, depending on level of experience.
• Duty station: Leiderdorp (The Netherlands).

Position within RiH
The Technical Proposal Writer will report to the Directors and actively collaborate with other RiH staff members.
