Leader, Debit Settlement MasterCard

The Leader, Debit Settlement is responsible for providing leadership, direction and management of staff that support transaction reconciliation or exception processing within the MasterCard Debit environment. This will include ensuring appropriate processes are established to reconcile card payment activity processed between two MasterCard systems, or between MasterCard and external networks. The position requires a highly motivated, detail oriented, analytical individual who can manage multiple priorities and work well with cross-functional teams. The Leader, Debit Settlement will have direct reports and will be accountable for the administrative and resource development responsibilities required of a people manager.

Major Accountabilities:
• Participate in strategic planning, financial planning, administration and management of department.
• Ensure department and/or project is adequately staffed, trained and managed.
• Identify/resolve process gaps and research and resolve any identified discrepancies.
• Provide leadership and direction in the development of process enhancements to improve the efficiency, quality, and timeliness of daily operations.
• Ensure problems of varying complexity are resolved within established SLA’s or business guidelines
• Ensure technical issues are resolved as needed in coordination with other corporate departments
• Lead initiatives or participate on project teams to develop or enhance system functionality and reporting
• Set team objectives and evaluate individual team members against same

Education:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required. Masters degree or equivalent combination of experienced and formal education required. CPA preferred.

Knowledge / Experience:
• Minimum 5 to 8 years banking and/or payments industry experience with strong knowledge of clearing and settlement systems and processes
• Minimum 2 years of management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and finance concepts

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with cross-functional partners
• Must be self-motivated and a strong team player that can function with minimal direction, basing actions on established policy
• Excellent oral, written, and communication skills required
• Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, and Access preferred
