Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent, medical, emergency relief organization that provides assistance to people worldwide, regardless of their background, religion or political convictions. Above all, we aim to save lives and to offer medical care to victims of disasters, wars and epidemics. Working together with local staff, we give direct support to the population. The Dutch organization ‘Artsen zonder Grenzen’ (MSF-Holland) is a member of the international organization ‘Médecins Sans Frontières’.

MSF-Holland currently operates medical humanitarian interventions in 25 countries. On a yearly basis MSF-Holland deploys approximately 1100 international staff and employs 7,500 national staff. At headquarters in Amsterdam, around 180 employees offer their support to the projects.

The Finance Unit is responsible for the safeguarding of sound registration, monitoring and administration of all financial movements in the organization. The Finance Unit consists of approximately 16 people working in the sections Accounting & Administration and Finance Field.

Medewerker Financiën (80%)

The main objective of this position is to carry out and monitor a timely, accurate and complete processing of the assigned financial sub-administrations (such as accounts payables, accounts receivables and cash management

Main characteristics
• Enters and maintains supplier/customer information in the financial administration;
• Enters supplier/customer invoices according to the authorisation procedures and sends the approved customer invoices;
• Safeguards the invoice approval cycle;
• Checks the invoices against the purchasing orders and receipt of goods (3-way matching);
• Processes several reports on request of the General Administrator;
• Carries out daily cashier activities, checking and booking of these, and reconciling according to the procedures;
• Carries out filing and archiving of all relevant paperwork;

Profile / Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who has a supportive attitude, is quality orientated and is a team player. You should be able to maintain high work standards and be result orientated. You have a good accounting knowledge on a middle educational level (MEAO) and you have at least two years working experience with an advanced financial management system (preferably Oracle Financials), a very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.


We are offering
 A 80% appointment (based upon a 40-hour working week) for the period between 15-08-2012 and 31-01-2013;
 A gross monthly salary, between € 1,914 and a maximum of € 2,734 (scale 4, based on a fulltime appointment), depending on relevant work experience;
 A premium free pension and 30 holidays (based upon a 40-hour working week);
