Organisational Effectiveness Manager -Bulyanhulu Gold Mine

Reporting to the General Manager and the Human Resources Director we seek to appoint an Organizational Effectiveness Manager at our Bulyanhulu gold mining operation.
The OE Manager will form part of the mine’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) responsible for providing technical, commercial and strategic management and control to the Human Resources, Training & Development, Facilities & Services, Communication and Business Improvement functions. In addition, the OE Manager will contribute to the mine’s SLT by ensuring that targets in respect of employee productivity, safe working, cost management and corporate governance are achieved.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Human Resources and Labour Relations
  • Provide Human Resources Leadership in the following core areas:
    • Recruitment and selection
    • Workforce planning
    • Compensation and benefits
    • Performance Management
    • Talent Management
    • Labour Cost Management
    • HR Policies and Procedures design and maintenance
    • Develop competency and service delivery levels of BGML’s HR function
  • Provide guidance and leadership in employees relations
    • Establish a communication strategy for employee communication
    • Develop and implement organizational development strategies, policies and procedures to ensure consistent and equitable consideration and management of all employees
    • Responsible for union negotiations
    • Building and maintaining good union relationships
    • Maintenance of agreements
    • Ensure work practices and procedures are in accordance with Labour Legislation requirements
Training
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the training discipline on the mine site
  • Implement a monitoring system for tracking progress with regards to the mine’s succession and localization programs
  • Implement a monitoring system for the personal development plan process
  • Ensure that Company initiatives on supervisory and leadership development are supported
  • Ensure that training is in place to develop employees to a high level of competence
  • Implement career progression plans
Business Improvement (BI)
  • Articulating and reinforcing the vision, strategy and principles associated with the ABG culture and Business Improvement initiatives
  • Supporting site leadership in the implementation of ABG systems and processes related to BI
  • Ensure that a proper system exists to track BI initiatives and progress
  • Ensures that a proper organization and succession plan exists to facilitate and drive Business Improvement on the mine site
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Education Requirements:
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, Commerce or Social Sciences
Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of fifteen years experience in a similar role, five of which should be in the development and management of human resources in the mining industry.
  • HR mining industry experience is essential, preferably within Africa
