AngloGold Ashanti Limited (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents and a highly successful exploration program. AGA employs over 60,000 people globally. In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine in WA and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine, also in WA, in which it has a 70% interest and is manager. Independence Group holds the remaining 30%. Tropicana, which represents the most significant Australian gold discovery for the last decade, is scheduled to begin production in the December quarter of 2013.

We are now seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior HR Advisor to join our Human Resource team located at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine

Accountable to the HR Manager, this role will be a FIFO 8/6 roster as well as time spent in our Corporate office in Perth. You will be required to manage Human Resources interfaces between the HR team in Perth and the operation business in order to facilitate project delivery.

The main tasks of the role include:

  • Development & implementation of policies/procedures
  • Provision of HR advice and mentoring Managers
  • Provision of IR advice and coaching to Managers, contractors and other stake holders within AngloGold Ashanti
  • HR project delivery
  • Assisting with the onboarding process
  • Typing of contracts, variations, promotions

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A tertiary degree/diploma in HR
  • A minimum of 3-5 years mining experience
  • Previous IR experience
  • Exposure to Greenfields projects
  • General HR experience
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
