As a Consultant, you would be responsible for managing small projects or work-packages within bigger projects, under the supervision of senior team members. On a day to day basis, you would be overseeing and carrying out data collection, for example through desk research and literature reviews, telephone or face to face interviews and focus groups. When the opportunity arises, you would be invited to attend client meetings in Brussels.

Work experience:

Must have between 1 and 3 year’s experience in a similar role where they have been responsible for putting their public policy knowledge into practice. Work experience within or for EU public bodies (e.g. other consultancies, European Parliament, European Commission) would be an advantage.

Qualifications:

Ideally will have a Masters degree in a relevant subject, although applications from other candidates who hold Bachelor degrees are also invited.

Knowledge:

Will be able to demonstrate their interest in European public policy and their knowledge of the legislative process. Ideally will have knowledge of quantitative research methods, experience of impact assessments and evaluations. A legal/economic background would be an advantage.

IT skills:

Familiarity with Microsoft packages, for example Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Other skills:

Report writing and a proven ability to manage own workloads and deadlines are essential. Good communication skills are also required.

Languages:

Fluency in English and at least one other EU27 language is essential. Applications from candidates who can speak Eastern European languages are particularly encouraged.

Personal attributes:

Must be a strong team player, solution oriented, self motivated and take pride in producing high quality work. They will have well developed planning skills, be committed to their own continuous improvement and learn from their own mistakes.

All post holders must be prepared to travel abroad and occasionally spend nights away from home. The opportunity to work from our Brussels office could also be discussed.
