The T.M.C. Asser Instituut is a unique and leading inter-university research centre specialized in the field of international and European law. Its core activities of fundamental and applied research, postgraduate education (including PhD training), document delivery, knowledge dissemination and valorisation are predominantly carried out on and from its premises in The Hague, for its diverse population of stakeholders at national and international levels.

The Department Projects, Education, (Post-Graduate) Training & Events initiates and executes demand driven, tailor made education activities on a post-academic level and a great variety of large-scale and small scale events. Examples thereof are seminars, conferences, round tables, lectures and moot court competitions. For this department we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly communicative Project Assistant Education & Events (1 fte/38 hours).

Job Description

You are part of a highly professional, committed and flexible team under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Project, Education, (Post-Graduate) Training & Events. Within the department you are a focal point for colleagues and external instances where it concerns education projects and events.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • Preparing, budgeting, planning, organizing and reporting on education projects, training courses and events;
  • Generating PR-materials, mailings, keeping up-to-date of relevant web-pages and interaction with social media;
  • Registering of participants and the financial follow-up thereof;
  • Communicating with lecturers, participants and speakers and all those involved with the project; Collecting and compiling of training and conference materials;
  • Attending and baring responsibility for conferences, training courses and events and willing and able to work at irregular hours;
  • Organizing and attending social activities;
  • Acquisition of projects and contributing to acquire funds for projects.

Qualifications

  • A finished and relevant education on a HBO/MBO+ level;
  • Preferably some years of experience working in an international environment;
  • Proven experience in the area of project management;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English and excellent writing skills in Dutch and English;
  • Experience in use of MS-Office software and a willingness to use other applications like CRM and CMS to maintain databases and web-pages;
  • You are willing and able to initiate and innovate the use of social media in order to involve target groups in our events.

  • Accuracy, quality & service driven, integrity and flexibility come naturally;
  • Collaborative and supportive approach to teamwork;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a good sense of humor.

Conditions

  • Up to 1 fte (38 hours per week);
  • Salary scale: 7 or 8 according to the collective labour agreement of the Dutch Universities (VSNU);
  • Remuneration depends on the actual level of education, experience and knowledge with a maximum of € 3,028 gross per month based on a full time equivalent;
  • The T.M.C. Asser Instituut is affiliated with the University of Amsterdam and the conditions of employment of the university are applicable;
  • Temporary employment for 1 to 3 years with a possibility of a permanent contract.
