Your role
Reporting to the Vice President and Risk Programme Manager for Africa and Asia, the Risk Project Manager will deliver and manage the risk management technical assistance, including best practices and tools such as credit scoring and analytic capabilities, to partner institutions in the Africa and Asia regions. This will require enhancing the business model and methodology to ensure that the risks originated in the partner institution’s operations and expenses associated with the credit cycle (originations, account maintenance and collections) can be predicted and are acceptable to the business. The successful candidate will propose construction of segmentation tools based on profitability and risk to increase average portfolio and decrease attrition rates and support partner institutions on evaluation of portfolio indicators. He/she will also report to Management risks levels and proposed action plans.

Your profile
As a minimum, the ideal candidatemust have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or Industrial Engineering field. Masters degree preferred
  • Seven years experience in credit risk modeling analysis in the financial services sector, statistics and data mining for credit risk management, modeling and analysis; credit portfolio risk management within financial business (5 years if Masters degree)
  • Proficiency with statistical and other related software; and knowledge of basic accounting and financial analysis
  • Strong knowledge and clear understanding of portfolio risks related to vintage and delinquency trends; market operational risks, cost management, MFI operational processes, microcredit products, credit business management reports, and data management
  • Excellent relationship and project management experience with good communication and commercial skills.
