Short-Term Project for an Experienced Archivist

The Energy Charter Secretariat is seeking an experienced archivist to assist the organisation in setting up a new archiving system, which should take place between July and September 2012.

In the Administration and Finance Unit, the Archivist will work with the relevant officials of the organisation to design an archiving system for all existing documentation (dating back to 1992) and for all future documentation. He/she will design and implement a new system and assist and advise where appropriate, using very much a hands-on approach. Prior experience in dealing with archiving for other international organisations will be an asset.

The successful candidate will have (or be in the process of obtaining) a postgraduate degree in librarianship or archiving, and relevant professional experience. Oral and written communications skills are imperative, as well as an excellent knowledge of English and good drafting. The capacity to work in a multinational environment, together with the ability to be a good team player, is important.

The project, with an attractive, international remuneration package, will be offered on the basis of a one to three-month (to be determined), fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal. The Energy Charter Secretariat is an equal opportunities employer. Candidates must be nationals of a signatory country.

Applications from potential candidates should be addressed to:
