Volunteer, Access-to-Medicines

One of the hallmarks of the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), formerly the William J. Clinton – HIV/AIDS Initiative, is simultaneous and intensive engagement on the demand and supply sides of the market to improve access to essential medicines for patients in developing countries. While CHAI’s Drug Access Team (DAT) works to address supply-side barriers to access and to foster a healthy marketplace to ensure the sustainable supply of essential medicines at lower prices, CHAI’s country teams help governments understand the market, access lower drug prices, and facilitate the roll-out of new and improved products. Additionally, country teams work closely with governments to scale up and strengthen care and treatment programs.
