The Earth Sciences Institute of Shinyanga is a registered technical institution Reg. No REG/EOS/041P wishes to engage teaching staffs from this financial year of 2012/13. Starting 1st Sept 2012

Geology Tutors: 2 Posts
Qualifications
The applicant should have
(i) At least a BSc in geology from any recognized university.
(ii) At least 3 years experience in the Mining industry or in teaching,
Skills
(iii) Demonstrates a good command of English and communication skills
(iv) Demonstrates leadership skills
(v) Posses a good customer care skills
(vi) A computer and internet literate
Package
A good package in accordance to NACTE standards shall be given to the successful candidate.
Functions
Report to: Institute Principal
The applicant functions shall be:
- To teach long courses at NTAL 4 to NTAL 6
- To teach short courses
- To conduct researches
- To undertake consultancy services
- To advise the management honestly and timely
- To work in the field (during field work or mapping)
- To establish and maintain a proper administration of the Institute in accordance with policy laid down by the governing board.
- To develop, recommend and advise the governing board on academics, infrastructure, human resources and other strategic plans, policies and procedures.
- To promote efficiency in the academics activities related to training, research and consultancy.
- To organize and direct staffing, compensation, staff development and staff relations in accordance with policies and guidance given by the governing board.
- To enforce all by –laws and Regulations made by the Governing Board.
- To do any other work or functions that shall be given to him / her by his / her supervisor
